We fully expect that all proceedings—both criminal and any related political or legislative actions—will afford my client the full measure of due process guaranteed by the United States Constitution, including the Fifth and Sixth Amendments, and by the Constitution of Georgia, Art. I, § 1, ¶ I.
Under longstanding constitutional principles, every individual is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of competent jurisdiction. This matter will be litigated fully and fairly in accordance with the rule of law, where constitutional protections—not political considerations—govern the outcome.
Due process is likewise guaranteed to my client in any associated political or legislative proceedings pursuant to the Georgia Constitution, Art. II, § 3, ¶ I. We intend to invoke and vigorously exercise all rights afforded under these constitutional provisions.
